Why would my ph stay the same throughout the day? I'm getting the same readings in the morning and at night. I might need new regeants, I guess. When I first adjusted the KH, it took 3/16tsp of baking soda to achieve 3 from 1 (ten gallons). After the KH dropped to 2, it still took 3/16tsp to raise to 3. I guess I won't worry about it too much, as my fish seem uneffected, but I would still like to figure out WHY ph is not changing and KH is changing. I'm fairly new to fishkeeping and even newer to aquatic plants, but it's "problems' like this that keep me hooked. (I love tinkering around)

pH will fluctuate throughout the course of a day irregardless if you use CO2
or not. I'm talking about a planted aquarium only. Non-planted aquariums
remain more stable in regards to pH. This swing is due to the plants daily
cycle of photosynthesis and the CO2 the plants use to complete this or the
CO2 increase from not.
I have no explanation as to why your KH dropped. This really should not have
