Shalam Brothers and Sisters
Tonight will begin the fourth month of the sacred calendar. While the scriptures do not give us a Hebrew name like it did for the first month (Abib), worldly scholars presume that it was called Tammuz. This was the name of a Babylonian Idol (false god). Ezekiel 8:13 “He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.” Verse 14: “Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.” It was an abomination (filthy and wicked) for our people to celebrate this false god. Likewise you will have some of our people honoring the calendar of this world in modern Babylon. We are to avoid celebrating (barbecuing, singing, dancing, etc.) our downfall and slavery. Remember that you are not independent but still bound to service like the constitution reads. During this month when our forefathers were exiled from the land (in ancient Babylon) they reminded themselves of why they suffered slavery. Tonight you should focus on the same lessons and remember to flee from idolatry. Please read Zechariah 8:19, Jeremiah 39:2-3, and 2nd Kings chapter 25.
