Funeral services for Tommie Slansky, 50, of Sealy, were held on Wednesday, June 12 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frydek with Rev. Thuy Quang Nguyen celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal.
Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Pallbearers were Charlie Kendall, Bryan Sodolak, Kenny Fritsch, Brett Reichardt, Tyler Reichardt, George Mock, Dick Nelson and James Pustka.
Tommie Edward Slansky was born in Houston on April 23, 1963 to parents Edward L. Slansky and Cecilia Marik Slansky. He was raised in Sealy and graduated from Sealy High School. He worked for many years as a mechanic at Mack Haik Ford dealership . Tommie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frydek, member and officer of the Frydek Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and the Frydek Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree and the Frydek K.J.T. Society. Tommie passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 in Houston.
Survivors include his mother Cecilia Slansky of Sealy; sisters Connie Reichardt and husband Stephen of Sealy, Kelly Slater and husband Stefan of Orchard and Amanda Cendalski and husband Kevin of Sealy; brother Scott Slansky and wife Heidi of Heberun, Ky.; nieces and nephews Brett and Tyler Reichardt, Kaye Cendalski, Kathleen, Madison and Brody Slansky and Kellan Slater. He was preceded in death by his father Edward L. Slansky and sister Donna Kay Stansky.
Knesek Funeral Home in Sealy was in charge of arrangements.
