Albert L. Sabrsula, 86, of Houston, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013.
He was born January 2, 1927 in Tavener, Texas. Albert proudly served in World War II. He retired after 37 years with ILA24 as a Long Shore Man. He also loved ranching, hunting, and fishing with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed and will live on in our hearts forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ladik and Angeline Sabrsula.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise Sabrsula; daughter, Dianna Barber and husband Mike; son, Jim Sabrsula and Elizabeth Stone; grandchildren, Jason Barber, Darrell Barber and wife Lindsay; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Henrietta Rosenbaum, Rosalie Sralla and husband Lester, Aline Zurovec and husband Alfonso, Willie Mae Kalisek, Doris Kolofa and husband Leo; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, April 1, 2013 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Assumption Catholic Church, 901 Rose Lane, Houston, Texas. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Darrell Barber, Allen Rosenbaum, Chris Carr, Aaron Gant, Lester Sralla, Jr., and Mike Zurovec. A Reception will be held at Assumption Church following the Graveside Service.
