MYRTLE M. KRENEK
WHARTON - Myrtle Marie Krenek, age 89 of Wharton died Monday, March 4, 2013 in a Wharton Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born on July 13, 1923in Pierce, TX the daughter of the late Rasmus Micharl Rasmussen and Anne Katherine Bennetsen Rasmussen.
Mrs. Krenek was a life-long resident of Wharton County and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton. She graduated from Crescent High School in 1941 and then graduated from the Methodist Hospital Nursing Program in Houston. She married Joseph William Krenek on February 8, 1945 in Boise, Idaho and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2005.
Friends may call for visitation starting at 5:00 PM TODAY, Wednesday, March 6, 2013 and a Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton with Father Dominic Antwi-Boasiako officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Billy Owens of Bay City and Teena Middleton of Katy; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Mary Krenek of San Jose, CA, Mickey and Sharon Krenek of Tomball, TX and Wayne and Jeanette Krenek of Wharton; sister, Rose Kate Martinka and husband Edward of El Campo; Sister-in-law, Martha Welfel of Wharton; thirteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
