Funeral services for Joseph E. Stavinoha, 88, were held Saturday, June 4, in St. Michael's Catholic Church, with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Mr. Stavinoha was born Feb. 25, 1889, at Ammannsville, one of 11 children born to Joseph F. and Anna (Adamcik) Stavinoha. He married Theresia Berger here Oct. 2, 1916. She died in 1967 at Ganado, where Mr. Stavinoha had been in the dry goods business for 40 years. After her death he moved back to Weimar.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Werner J. Stavinoha of Weimar; two grandchildren, Peter Kim Stavinoha and Anne Stavinoha; four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Horak of Needville, Mrs. Martha Bohac of Columbus, Mrs. Mary Hluchanek and Mrs. Adela Kristek of Weimar; and two brothers, A. A. Stavinoha of Temple and George Stavinoha of La Grange. Four brothers preceded him in death: B.B. Stavinoha, Vojt Stavinoha and Emil Stavinoha of Rosenberg and Jim Stavinoha of San Antonio.
Pallbearers were William B. Stavinoha, Jodie Stavinoha, John A. Hajovsky, Wilbur Grohmann Sr., George Berger and Joe W. Hartensteiner.
Vigil services were conducted by Rev. Daniel J. O'Brien, and the funeral mass and graveside services by Rev. Charles B. Carolan.
