SNOOK — Services for Dolores Vance Sebesta, 91, of Snook are set for 3 p.m. Thursday at Lone Oak Baptist Church near Snook. The Rev. Ed Walker of Lone Oak Baptist Church and the Rev. Steven Johnson of First Baptist Church in Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be in the Snook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mrs. Sebesta died Tuesday at home.
She was born in Iola and was a longtime resident of Snook. She was a retired teacher, postal employee and a homemaker. Mrs. Sebesta was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas; Daughters of the American Revolution; United Daughters of the Confederacy; Order of the Eastern Star, Somerville #245; Burleson County Historical Society; Burleson St. Joseph Hospital Auxillary and the Snook Extension Homemakers. Mrs. Sebesta grew up in Bryan and graduated from Bryan High School. She graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1936 and taught school in Allen Farm, Snook and Bryan. She was a retired postal worker in Snook and a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Sebesta.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles J. and Jane Sebesta of Caldwell; two daughters and son-in-law, Marilyn Sebesta of Wharton and Nancy and Lawrence Matus Jr. of Bryan; three sisters-in-law, Jimmie Vance and Elaine Vance, both of Bryan, and Viola Sebesta of Georgetown; a brother-in-law, Alton Dalchau of Kingsland, Texas; and two grandchildren.
