Raymond F. Barta, 53, of rural Marion, died
Thursday, Dec. 1, 1994, in his home following a long illness.
Services at 11 a.m. Monday in Resurrection Lutheran
Church in Marion. Rev. Richard Lehmann will officiate. Entombment in
Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Friends may call at
Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday and at the Church after
10 a.m. on Monday.
Survivors include his wife Judy, his mother Erma
Barta of New Braunfels; three daughters, Pamela Kacena of Marion, Sherrie
Throckmorton of Houston, and Melissa Barta of Le Center, Minn.; four sisters,
Dorothy Vacek of Corsicana, Texas, Katie Cook of San Antonio, Janice Nelson of
Temple, and Mary Gonzales of San Antonio; and one brother Frank Jr. of Oklahoma
Also survived by three grandchildren, numerous
nieces and nephews and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his
father Frank Barta Sr. and a sister Joyce Roessing-Ritter.
Raymond was born March 27, 1941, in El Campo,
Texas. He married Judy Moore on Dec. 10, 1960, in Arlington Heights,
Ill. He worked as Machine Shop Supervisor at P & H Crane and Rockwell
Goss and was owner and operator of the J & R Kerr McGee Station in
Marion. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Marion, the
Marion American Legion Post #298, American Quarter Horse Association, the
American Paint Horse Association, and a Peacetime U.S. Army
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy or to
Resurrection Lutheran Church in Marion. Raymond was a wonderful husband,
Dad, and Papa, and will greatly missed by his family and friends.
