A rosary and Funeral Mass for Emma A. Viktorin, 100, of Wharton, was held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Dominic Antwi-Boasiako officiating. Burial followed in the St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery in Hungerford.
Mrs. Viktorin died Feb. 26, 2009 at Gulf Coast Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1908 in Penelope. Mrs. Viktorin was the daughter of the late Louis M. Tobola and Carolyn Cykala Tobola.
She was a resident of Wharton since 2002 and a former resident of Boling. Mrs. Viktorin was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Mission in Boling.
Mrs. Viktorin married B.R. Viktorin on Sept. 21, 1925 in East Bernard and he preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1995.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Bea Nutley and husband John of Alvin; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
