ADELL ROSE MIKULA, 83, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2008 at her home in Houston, Texas after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on August 10, 1924 in Caldwell, Texas to Frances Bayer Paukert and Joe Paukert. She was a devoted Christian and a deeply loving and caring daughter, wife and mother. She will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her three brothers, George, Ervin and Bill Paukert. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 58 years, Joe Mikula; daughter, Jo Ann Nevitt and her husband, Rod; son, Steven Mikula and his wife, Rachel; son, David Mikula and his wife, Pilar; son Randy Mikula and his wife, Jolee; grandchildren, Daniel Paul Mikula, Austin Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Michael Mikula, Matthew Mikula, Robert Franklin, Bryan Thompson, Ryan Mikula, Aiyana Franklin, Will Mikula and Allie Nevitt; and sister, Marie Hajdik. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary and Vigil for the Deceased at 7 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 10688 Shadow Wood Drive. Rev. Mgsr. James Anderson will officiate. On Wednesday, June 4, 2008, there will be a visitation at Marek Burns Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron, Texas until 10:00 a.m., at which time, there will be a procession to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 6633 FM 2266, Marak, Texas, where family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass at which Rev. Walter Matus will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow immediately thereafter at the Marak cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
