Funeral services for Margaret (Blaha) Cox, 84, of La Grange were held
at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 7 at the Koenig & Strickland Chapel with
Pastor Sid Roden officiating. Interment followed in the La Grange City
Cox died Wednesday, July 4 at St. Mark¹s Medical Center in La Grange.
She was born Aug. 21, 1922 in the Gus Community of Burleson County,
the daughter of Steve and Wilhelmina (Kaiser) Blaha. She was baptized
on Sept. 22, 1929 at St. John Lutheran Church in Deanville, attended
the Gus Community School and grew up in the Dime Box area. She married
Milton Lawrence Cox on April 9, 1951, in La Grange where she has been
a longtime resident and homemaker raising her eight children. She
attended Saint Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and recently was
staying in the Regency Convalescent Home in Schulenburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton Cox, Sr.;
daughter, Marian Busch; granddaughter, Callie Morgan; three sisters,
Lucille Stroud, Irene Blaha, and Alberta Becvar; and five brothers,
Paul, Carl, George, Henry and Daniel Blaha.
Survivors include seven children, Elizabeth Tannler of Houston, Helen
Stewart and husband Bill Edge of Atlanta, Ga., Milton Cox, Jr. and
wife Pamela of Luling; Patsy Fretwell and husband David of Houston;
Thomas Cox of La Grange; Carol (Susie) Morgan and husband Clay of La
Grange; Brian Cox of La Grange; son-in-law, Harvey Busch of La Grange;
eight grandchildren, Brett Busch and wife Stephanie of San Diego,
Calif., Bonnie Busch and husband John Pineda of Austin, Jessica,
Jennifer and Jamie Fretwell of Houston, Caitlin, Abby and Cole Morgan
of La Grange; and one great-granddaughter, Ella Busch Pineda of Austin.
Memorials may be made to Saint Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in La
Grange; Fayette County Animal Shelter in La Grange; or any favorite
