NIXIE LADNER ZIRJACKS

Nixie Ladner Zirjacks, age 91, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006. She was born Oct.
31, 1915 in Yorktown, Texas, to the late Nicolas Louis and Ada Miles Ladner.
Nixie graduated from the University of Texas and was a former teacher in
Victoria, Cuero and Yoakum, and was a Principal at Brownson Elementary
School. She was one of the founders of the Presbyterian Day School, and a
member of the Bronte Club, and other organizations. She was a Charter member
of the Fellowship Bible Church.
She is survived by her children, Ada (and Duncan) Sutherland and Grace (and
Tom) Faulkner, all of Victoria, and W. L. "Chic" (and Kay) Zirjacks Jr. of
Sacramento, California sister, Ada Grace Ladner Harrison of Port Lavaca;
five grandchildren, Bettina McCormick, Aimee Ford, Greg Faulkner, Jonathan
Faulkner and W. L. "Reed" Zirjacks III; and 3 great- granddaughters,
Victoria McBenson, Samantha Faulkner, and Melanie Faulkner; and three
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Winston L. Zirjacks;
and her parents.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 at Colonial Funeral Home. A
Memorial Service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, December 9, 2006 at
Fellowship Bible Church with the Rev. Mike Malone officiating. Honorary
pallbearers are Dr. Larry Riedel, Dr. Ern C. Mooney, Steve Meacham, Dr.
Jimmy Goodson, Bootie Pearson, Kevin Epley, Hilary Matthews and John Larson.
Family Graveside Services will be held prior to the Memorial Service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Winston and Nixie Zirjacks
Scholarship Fund at Victoria College, 2200 E. Red River, Victoria, Texas
77901 or the Fellowship Bible Church, 3401 N. Ben Jordan, Victoria, Texas
