PORT LAVACA - Stella Kahanek Staha, 88, of Port Lavaca, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005.
She was born Aug. 21, 1916, in Schulenburg, to the late Rudolph and Mary Krupala Kahanek. She worked at Jackson Cafeteria for Calhoun County ISD, was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, and was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors: daughters, Earline Scholortt of Port Lavaca and D'Hanis and Karen Nolen of Bay City; son, Edgar Staha Jr. of Port Lavaca; sister, Martha Machicek of Point Comfort; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: husband, Edgar E. Staha Sr.; son, Joseph Staha; and sister, Ida Kobza.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home chapel.
A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Services will be noon Friday at St. John's Catholic Church in Schulenburg.
