She was born Jan. 19, 1919, in Ganado, to the late August and Louise Sekera Pratka. She was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church and St. John Bosco Altar Society. She was a homemaker.
Survivors: daughters, Joan Johnson of Lolita, Mary Lyn "Toots" Venglar of Yoakum, Barbara MacFarland of Hughes Spring, Maxine Dvorak and Katherine "Koogzie" Dvorak, both of Vanderbilt; sons, James "Butch" Tomas Sr. of Victoria, C.J. "Sonny" Tomas Sr. and Marcus Tomas, both of Edna, Leroy Tomas of Placedo, Daniel "Hot Rod" Tomas of Orange Grove and Larry Tomas of Vanderbilt; sister, Helen Bowden of Kingsville; 24 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: husband, Joe Walter Tomas; sisters, Minnie Sablatura, Olga Juroske and Lena Gregurek; and brothers, John Pratka Sr., William Pratka, Fred Pratka, Jerome Pratka, Alfred Pratka and Joe Pratka.
A rosary will be recited 6 p.m. tonight at Slavik Funeral Home chapel.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Vanderbilt.
Burial will be at St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in LaSalle. Slavik Funeral Home, Edna, 361-782-2152.
