Obituary of Konrad Edwin Branecky

Final Rites Scheduled for Victim
Funeral services will be held Monday for Konrad Edwin Branecky, 53 year old
Victoria County farmer killed in a tractor-auto collision on the
Halletsville Highway Friday night.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. from the Duckett-Conner Mortuary Chapel
and at 10 a.m. from our lady of Victory Catholic Church with a Requiem High
Mass. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery with Rev. John Moore
A rosary will be recited Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the chapel.
Thrown from Tractor
Mr. Branecky died in a local hospital about two hours after he was thrown
from his farm tractor when it collided with an auto about 8 p.m.
Investigating highway patrolmen said the 1957 model auto collided with the
rear of Branecky's tractor as they were both headed towards Victoria. He
was thrown approximately 20 feet through the air to the pavement.
A formal verdict in the death was withheld by Justice of the Peace Alfred C.
Baass pending an investigation.
Mr. Branecky was the first traffic fatality in the city this year. A
Victoria resident for 21 years, he was born February 12, 1906 in Flatonia,
Texas the son of the late John Branecky of Flatonia and Pauline Machac
Branecky, now of Victoria. A resident of the Wood Hi community for 21
years, he lived on route 4 for the past three months. He was a member of
our Lady of Victory Church.
Besides his mother, Mr. Branecky is survived by his wife Mary, a son Edwin
Branecky of Victoria, a daughter Mrs. K. M. McNeely, of Waynesburg,
Pennsylvania, four brothers, Ed, John, Ben and James, all of Flatonia, four
sisters, Mrs. Julie Fyster, Mrs. Annie Kolizak of Corpus Christi, Mrs.
Aurelia Masak of East Bernard, Mrs. Adele Fiddler of Flatonia and four
