Obituary of Hugh Purcell

MR. HUGH EDWARD PURCELL, JR., 60, of Houston, passed away Saturday,
June 14, 1980 in a local hospital of a heart attack. He was a member
of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Engineer with Schlumberger Offshore
Services for 35 years, pioneer amateur radio ham W5JPE, member ARRL,
West Houston RACES Civil Defense. Survivors: Wife, Bernice Stasny
Purcell, Houston; sister, Jean English, Dallas; brothers, Terrance
Purcell of Florida, Walter Purcell, Abilene, Dan Purcell, Corpus
Christi, Richard Purcell, Dallas, and Dr. James Purcell, Beaumont.
Rosary will be said Monday, 7:30 p.m., Waltrip Chapel with another
Rosary to follow at 7:45 p.m. conducted by The Incarnate Word Academy
Alumnae. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 1980, at
10:00 a.m., St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell, with Rev.
Edward Randall officiating. Interment in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
Brothers will be serving as pallbearers, and the Honorary pallbearers
will be all fellow employees of Schlumberger Offshore Services, and
his many amateur radio friends. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may
be made to the Incarnate Word Academy Scholarship Fund or to the St.
Theresa Catholic Church Building Fund.
