A year ago Friday, Fort Worth police officer Henry "Hank" Nava Jr.
died at age 39, two days after he was shot in the head while trying to
serve an arrest warrant at a home in northwest Fort Worth. Officer
Ernesto Flores (pictured) was among Nava's colleagues and relatives
and city officials who observed the anniversary at a private service
at Greenwood Cemetery. The man accused of killing Nava, Stephen Lance
Heard, has been in custody since the afternoon of the shooting. Heard
is in the Tarrant County Jail on charges including capital murder,
with bail set at $6 million.
