I am looking for a long time an answer to a simple question : 5 solas of reformation are commonly attributed to the very first time of reformation, but I never found any reference for an identified author. Are there any one ?
I had the opportunity to ask the question to some french, swiss and italien specialists of XVIth in a conference on Jean Calvin in Firenze. None of them had ever heard about five solas.
Do you have a source ? I apologize for the out-of-topic question, but it rolls in my mind around, and I know no other place to let it flush avay.
some deceptive references on internet :
Thanks in advance for your science.
PS : in this conference, an interesting communication from Jean Ceard about Maldonat, Jesuit, whose bible critic looks to have been quite advanced for his time, at least in the catholic area. But far away, obviously, from our modern results. An another communication from Max Engamare, comparing text analysis by Calvin and Castellion.
