Many hear about and accept this sutra, but when great obstacles arise, just as they were told would happen, few remember it and bear it firmly in mind. To accept is easy; to continue is difficult. But Buddhahood lies in continuing faith.

Subject: [SGI] RE: Gongyo: Why 2nd and 16th chapters?
Those two sections highlight the two most important teachings of the Lotus Sutra, the 2nd chapter refers to the skillful means used by the Buddha to teach the Dharma and the universality of Buddhahood, and 16 teaches the eternity of Buddhahood.

Can someone help me understand why gongyo involves recitation of the 2nd and 16th chapters of the lotus sutra? I 've heard about other chapters also being recited but any specific reason for these two chapters?
