You really got a speedy answer. I was cut out again and found 40 messages on the
The answer from Helen Fedor is great but I hope you didn't become confused
between Gbel'any and Gbely.
Your answer is NOT Gbely:
1392 Kwbel, Kebel, 1773 Gbelly; Mad'. Egbel; gbelsk Gbelan, -ka. Cunin: 1585
Czwnyn. Adamov: 1696 Adamfalva.
upa Nitrianska: Okres Skalica, kraj Bratislava do 1960; okres Senica, kraj
At present, Adamov is a "bus stop", on the road to Kty, (rt. 2), just before the
turn off to Gbely. It is a refuge for refugees from the former Jugoslavia,
Bosnia-Hercegovina and others. It had a really nice restaurant which is now a
cafeteria and an old hotel, now known as "Hotel tri blechy".
Keep in mind that I have the three volume Vlastivedny Slovnik Obci Na Slovensku..
However, the cross reference list did not include your Ebethal or Eibenshal but
did include the following for Gbel'any:
1362 Koblen, 1434 Belena, 1439, Kbeleny, 1508 Gbeleny, 1598, Kbeleny, 1773,
Gbeleny, 1786 Gbelani; Mad' Gbellan, Egbelny.
upa Treninska okres ilina, kraj ilina do 1960 okres ilina, kraj
Just to confuse things, three is a town called Gbelce, okres Nove Zamky.
Because of the shear volume of emails, I chose to help you, wiothput first
finding if you were answered. A real dumb dumb on my part. That is why I am
providing this info, (late).
