Hi Kathy, I hope I am not too late to sign up this Garden Tour. If there is space, I would like to bring a guest. I would even be willing to pay her membershipMessage 1 of 2 , Apr 2View SourceHi Kathy,
I hope I am not too late to sign up this Garden Tour. If there is space, I would like to bring a guest. I would even be willing to pay her membership for the year so she could go as a member : ) Please let me know if the tour is full or if there is space for one, or for two, on Saturday. I'm sorry to be so slow getting back to you, but I've been away.

Subject: [SilverSpringGardenClub] Spring Garden Tour -- Franciscan Monastery
HI all -
Just heard back from our tour guide, here are the event details:
Our Spring Garden tour will be of the grounds of the Franciscan Monastery in DC. The grounds include bulb plantings, a woodland valley, formal rose garden, herb gardens, and much more.
We will meet at 11:00am on Saturday, April 6 inside the main gates on the steps that lead up to the gift shop entrance.
The Monastery is located at 1400 Quincy St. N.E. Washington, D.C. 20017. There is free parking across the street from the monastery. Here is the web site with the directions: http://www.myfranciscan.org/ The Brookland metro stop is about a mile away -- it is a nice walk through a lovely neighborhood full of terrific home gardeners, but note that the walk is all uphill.
Wear sturdy walking shoes -- the garden includes a steep grotto and meandering paths.
Bring your a water bottle, camera, and paper/pen to take notes.
To attend, YOU MUST RSVP to Kathy Jentz at Laserblast@... or 301-588-6894 before Friday, April 5.We are limited to 20 maximum tour attendees. If we do not get at least 15 club member attendees RSVPed by April 4, we will open it up to nonmembers/guests.
In case of light rain, the tour will go on, but if it is really bad weather, we will reschedule.
We will not be touring the church interiors or the catacombs. You may wish to schedule another trip back to do that tour.
