K2BSA/5 JOTA at the National Scouting Museum, Irving, Texas ARISS contact time has now been confirmed. The contactt will begin at 18:30:30Z (1:32:30 CDT) via telebridge station VK6MJ in Australia. If you cannot join us at the Museum, you are invited to listen in to the contact via the 146.88 Dallas Amateur Radio Club repeater, via the Echolink "AMSAT" conference bridge or on UStream via URL http://www.ustream.tv/channel/dallasjota.
The National Scouting Museum is located at 1329 W. Walnut Hill Lane in Irving, TX. Hours of operation on Saturday the 20th will be 10A-5P CDT. The Museum event is a joint effort between the Irving Amateur Radio Club and the Dallas Amateur Radio Club. Besides the ARISS contact, other featured activities will be HF voice, HF PSK31, UHF IRLP via JOTA topic Channel 9091, Echolink via the WA5CKF repeater, 0Node 634042 and local via 146.72, 442.4 and Camp Wisdom and other Circle 10 Camps via the 442.8. DARC will also demonstrate their new D-Star capabilities and APRS.
We will also have other ham related and fun things to do like Solar telescopes and Space weather discussions, AMSAT Satellite contacts, Snap Circuits project building area, CW Morse decoder strip introduction, NTS traffic message origination and more.
