I'm not going to manage Spiro's intrepid walk this Saturday as I am
nursing an inflamed Achilles. So I am offering a tamer walk for
those who need a good stretch on Saturday.
It is an impromptu hike - can make it as long as we like, and add or
subtract as we go along. My intention is to meet at Wong Nai Chung
Gap petrol station at 9.45 sharp. We will up past Parkview,
following the Hong Kong Trail to the quarry and up Mount Butler.
From here we will descend to Tai Tam Reservoir and walk along the
service road to a leafy path that takes us to the Tai Tam Road.
Those who wish to can walk further. Ideas are welcome.......
Catch a minibus to Stanley for a snack / coffee / shopping?
Meeting time: 9.45 am
PLace: Shell Garage, just up from Football Club, Wong Nai Chung Gap
Length of hike: 3 to 4 hours
Grade: Moderate climb up Mount Butler, but then easy.
Bring: snacks, lunch, 2 litres water (at least).
