I recently heard the news that a lone Rock Wren was seen ( and photographed) on the rock-encrusted hill at Diefenbaker Park.
After a long search, I could not re-locate it, but still enjoyed birding this area and wasn't too disappointed, as I'd just seen this species at Grasslands N.P.
A very cool bird to get in the city though!
The park yielded me a couple of birds not always found in the city, or at least only in select places, so finding a Sora and a Savannah Sparrow was pretty neat.
I also heard the call of a Tennessee Warbler several times, making me wonder if this species is breeding here now?
