Dear Venerable Monks
I have been following the Buddhist path for some
years now but as I live several hours journey from Buenos Aires I am not in
contact with any Buddhists - there are one or two organizations in Buenos Aires.
I am 74 years old and was brought up as a Catholic in England but became very
disalusioned with that faith many years ago. I meditate every morning, or nearly
every morning using just the following the bresth method.
I have not yet been able to decide which branch of
Buddhism I should follow. I lean more towards the Tibetan school than any other
and find the idea of re-birth comforting in the sense that it is a bit late in
life to do much more than start my journey. On this subject I have often
wondered whether one can be re-born back into your own life. I had a 'deja - vu'
experienvce when I was a small boy which was so vivid that I often wondered
whether I had come back from the future to visit myself. (I was an avid reader
of science fiction books!)
I see the Sangha Panel of the group has one monk in Birmingham, England,
where I grew up as a boy.
Kindest regards to you all
