On 3rd November 2009 the Syrian Church celebrates the 107th memorial feast of St. Gregorios of Parumala, the patron Saint of Malankara and the first Syrian Church father from India whose name has been included in the 5th Tubden. The Malankara Church celebrates the Holy Father’s memorial feast in the next one week period starting from November 1st in its churches worldwide.
On this gracious occasion we at the Malankara Syriac Christian Resources is resubmitting the exclusive website on our Holy Father, after its recent redesigning with the inclusion of more photos and links.
The relaunched website includes an original photo of Mor Gregorios Thirumeni, taken from the Travancore State Manual and is of much better quality so far available. (This photo was taken a few months before the Holy father passed away in 1902, by a photographer named Decruz, for the Travancore State Manual as per the direction of Dewan Bahudur V Nagam Aiya, to show the vestments of a Syrian Christian Metropolitan. The first edition of the book came out in the year 1906).
