We've heard many things about the new Mel Gibson movie about the passion or
suffering of Christ. It's been the controversial issue recently with
questions such as: is it anti-Semitic, too bloody, historically inaccurate,
etc. I must say that as I saw and read about these issues more and more, it
created a deep desire to see the film.
I was fortunate enough to see the movie when it came out on Wednesday.
Tickets were only available for the 10 o'clock show at night. All other
shows were sold out!
I hope and pray that this movie is successful so that it'll send a message
to Hollywood: sex and violence are not the only things that sell tickets!
Nonetheless, I must say that it was the best $8 I spent! This movie goes
beyond all others because it shows the real and actual suffering of Christ
for our sake. You're bound to shed a tear. When I usually see a movie with
high expectations, I'm in for a letdown. But this was not the case with
'The Passion of Christ'. I highly recommend that everyone go see this
movie, especially during this lent season. It'll give more meaning for us
as we attempt to partake in the suffering that Christ bore for us. Light
will be shed on questions such as 'how can one man bear the sins of all?'
Though it may not be appropriate for the younger ones, it's a must see for
