The Oriental Orthodox Churches Council Meeting
On Tuesday September 13, 2011 at the Holy Martyrs Armenian Orthodox Church, Encino, His Eminence Moushegh Mardirosian, Archbishop of the Armenian Prelacy hosted the regular Oriental Orthodox Churches Council Meeting. The attendance was His Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, His Grace Bishop Serapion of the Coptic Archdiocese, and clergy members of the three dioceses. Upon arrival the Bishops and clergy proceeded to the Church and offered short prayers in each of their own languages.
The meeting was opened with prayer followed by discussion on the mutual matters which were listed on the agenda, and the activities of the three unified churches. In particular the Youth Committee and Sunday School programs which are taken care by Mrs. Patricia Allaf in order, the prelates are thankful and pleased of her efforts in this regards, and the joint Clergy Divine Liturgy, and other Orthodox churches. New business added to the agenda was the coming of His Holiness the patriarch Aram of the Armenian Church to the USA. And the situation of the Christians in the Middle East especially in Syria.
The next OOCC meeting will be held at St. Mary and St. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Church, Northridge, on Thursday December 13, 2011.
After the meeting all attendees enjoyed an agape.
