The Agape (the Christian Love) 2010, a family get-together of the Bahrain St. Peter's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, was held on Friday, 26th November 2010, at the Indian School Auditorium at Isa Town, Bahrain.
The event was in connection with the reception given to the newly appointed Patriarchal Vicar for the Church, H.G. Pathros Mor Osthatheos. His Grace arrived in Bahrain on 24th November 2010 and was accorded a warm welcome at the airport by the Vicar, Managing Committee and the faithful.
A tri-mass was celebrated on 26th Friday morning at the Church, with Mor Osthatheos as the chief celebrant and con-celebrated by the visiting Vicar of Kuwait St. Mary's Jacobite Church Fr. Aliyas George Elavinamannil and our Vicar Fr. Thomas Nediyapalakkal.
The reception meeting was attended by vicars of various sister churches in Bahrain, the visiting Vicar of Kuwait Jacobite Church Fr. Aliyas George, The Chairman of Coordination Committee of Indian Associations in Bahrain Dr. P. V. Cherian, Daily Tribune News paper's Managing Editor Mr. Soman Baby, Indian School Chairman Mr. Abraham John and Kerala Christian Ecumenical Council Secretary Mr. Sudin Abraham. Various cultural programmes by the Sunday School Children and members were also presented during this event.
Members who completed 25 years in wedlock are honoured during this family get-together programme. The Bishop Mor Osthatheos given "Ponnada" to the couple, as a token of appreciation from the Parish. Gifts and trophies were presented to the winners of Adults competitions held in October 2010.
