Any combination of training and experience that is likely to produce the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typically, this would be obtained by: Education: Equivalent to possession of a Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering, construction technology or related field. And Experience: Sufficient responsible experience in water, recycled water systems, advanced wastewater treatment operations and environmental compliance, management, administration, coordination, and operation, including supervisory experience, to demonstrate possession of the knowledge and abilities listed above and with a minimum of two years in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
The City of Healdsburg is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Public Works Director. The Deputy Public Works Director is a regular full-time administrative exempt position reporting directly to the Public Works Director. Under general policy direction manages, plans, directs and reviews the operational activities of the department with emphasis on the Public Works utility operations division including water production, treatment and distribution, wastewater collection, treatment and disposal, storm water management and performs other related work as assigned. The incumbent will also serve as the Director in the absence of the Public Works Director and may represent the Department at various meetings and events. This is an assistant department head level classification in the Public Works Department. Under general direction of the Public Works Director, the Deputy Director will exercise considerable independent judgment in developing and
supervising the implementation of technical and operational procedures of the water, wastewater and storm water operations and plans and organizes daily and long range activities for the utility operations group and other operations technical staff. This class differs from Public Works Director which has overall management responsibility for the entire Public Works department, functions, and programs. General direction is provided by the Public Works Director;responsibilities include direct and indirect supervision of other management, technical, maintenance, and clerical staff as assigned.
