Jacobs is seeking candidates for the position of Transportation Planner in
our Oakland, California Office. The Transportation Planner career path in
our Transportation section provides the opportunity to work on exciting
and engaging infrastructure projects. As a Planner, you will work on
diverse teams in identifying innovative technical solutions for a variety
of transportation planning projects in the Western region.
? Project Delivery:
o Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis for a range of
transportation projects. Range of planning and transportation projects
include (but not limited to) multi-modal transportation planning, transit
and operations analysis, pedestrian and bicycle studies, station area
planning, and bus rapid transit.
o Work closely with Project Managers in the delivery of the project. This
ranges from assisting the project manager with maanging budgets and
schedules to preparing technical reports and materials for public
o This individual will work with other planners in a team environment.
o Must be knowledgeable about and practice basic project management skills
(i.e. scope, schedule, budget, quality, time management, communication)
o Must possess strong writing, analytical and communication skills.
o Some experience in pursuing work, proposal planning/writing a plus.
? Education: Bachelor?s degree in planning or related field; Graduate
degree preferred in planning, public administration, or urban design
? Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible work history in
? Expert skills in PowerPoint required. Familiarity with Illustrator
and/or InDesign preferred.
? Ability to effectively lead, plan, organize and participate in public
meetings representing the client.
? Proven experience in writing technical transportation planning reports
with a sucesssful record of working with managers in deliving projects.
