Hello MUP students,
The Grand Boulevard Initiative group is looking for an intern to help put together some zoning tools for use by all communities along El Camino Real. This is a great opportunity because it would give exposure to all cities from Daly City to Santa Clara along El Camino Real, and may satisfy the internship requirement for your degree (check with your advisor). Please review the information below for details:
Support work for the Grand Boulevard Initiative (http://www.grandboulevard.net/) We are a consortium of about 24 agencies having control over El Camino Real, and other stakeholders, trying to work out themes for common steps to see the street evolve into The Grand Boulevard. We wish it to become something attractive both for its full "north-south" length, and also for its "east-west" orientation as a vital center for each of the communities along its length.
Our specific need is for interns to work on two web-based projects: a chart of financial resources (grants, development mitigations, fees, assessments, etc.); and, a chart listing obstacles to development (ground contamination, small lots, multiple owners, easements, incompatible adjacent land uses, etc.), with potential solutions and links to agencies that have been successful in dealing with each.
