Job Announcement – New Position
Transportation Planner – Programming & Legislation Section
The San Francisco County Transportation Authority has just approved an
additional position in its Programming & Legislation Section. Reporting
the Chief Deputy Director, the Transportation Planner (TP) assists with
calls for projects and makes recommendations regarding allocation of Prop
sales tax and programming of other local, state and federal funds; monitors
legislation; and assists with development and implementation of the
Strategic Plan, Countywide Transportation Plan, and Congestion Management
Program updates. The TP is also involved with project delivery oversight,
review and comment on technical and policy studies, and involvement in
planning efforts. This position involves extensive interaction with other
agency staff and members of the public.
Requirements include a graduate degree in an appropriate discipline such
transportation planning, civil engineering, or traffic engineering and
year of experience in transportation planning, programming, or related
discipline. Desired skills and knowledge are detailed in job description.
Compensation range: $60,225 – $84,320 (DOQ), plus excellent benefits.
Salary is effectively 6% higher since the Authority participates in a
pension plan through PERS en lieu of Social Security.
