I spent most of yesterday making a live strawberry shortcake (recipe
from Gratitude). I fell in love with this cake a few weeks ago and
had to make it for my mom's birthday. It was a huge hit. Everyone
loved it, but I spent almost $70 on the ingredients ($30 on almond
flour!), which is what Gratitude charges for a pre-made cake.
Based on the ingredients, it seems like the strawberry shortcake is
the most expensive. So...I suggest buying the cake from the
restaurant and making the other cakes from the book (they don't
require as many ingredients).
