Biological anthropologist to speak at USF on “Gender Differences in the Brain”
Tampa, Fla. (Feb, 18, 2013)
WHO: Helen Fisher, Ph.D., is a leading expert on the biology of gender differences, love and human personality.
As a biological anthropologist, Chief Scientific Advisor to Match.com, professor and author, she has explored
four broad personality styles based on brain chemistry: Explorer, Builder, Director and Negotiator.
She has looked at marriage and divorce in 58 societies, adultery in 42 cultures, patterns of monogamy and
desertion in birds and mammals, and gender differences in the brain and behavior.
WHAT: Fisher will give a public lecture as part of the Frontier Forum lecture series, presented by the
USF Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Faculty and sponsored by the USF Office of the Provost, USF College of Arts and Sciences
and Mayor Bob Buckhorn. The lecture is free and open to the public.
WHERE: USF Marshall Student Center Oval Theater
WHEN: The lecture will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21.
