I also play with HL Formerly Known as Meredydd, now Magdalena vander
Meere, and while I can't speak to this pattern exactly I can say
that I've seen her wear Burgundians and they look great!
Magda is wonderful and she does a lot of research. I'd personally
trust her pattern over any ol' costume book.

Ferch Owain ap Eliseg's pattern for a houp/burgundian gown. For
those of you without the handout, let me explain the construction:
Its 8 pannels (I think) - 2 panels for both the front and back as
well as 2 gores for each side.
