Simplicity 5582, wench garb is acceptable.
Simplicity 5293 acceptable but not period constructed.
With both of these see if you can't replace the metal grommets with
buttonholes (not a major nono but it will look better) or find the large/big
hook and eye, probably need two pkgs. top 3 rows on the bodice have hooks on
both sides and the rest on down would be eyes. These should be sew in from
edge about 1/2".
Simplicity 9531, Italian Renaissance. If memory is correct about this
pattern (one of the patterns destroyed when my basement flooded this
weekend) It is a closer to a period construction then the McCall's 2806. If
you know how to remove darts in patterns then do so with this one.
McCall's 4107 might be an easier pattern to work with because it has a
peplum which all you need to do it make the pattern straight across the
waist and put a skirt in where the peplum would have gone. Remember when
cutting off the points to leave 5/8th" seam allowance. (even the most
skillful seamstress' and tailors can have their "doh" moments which is why I
note the seam allowance)
Please remember that these suggestions are for quick makes and are on the
low end of the period scale.
Good luck with the sewing.
PS. Wal-Mart usually has McCall's and Simplicity 1/2 priced.
I can't find either of these patterns on their websites
