It has been a fairly lazy day here, I haven't done much but sit here at the
computer and look at web sites. I am so totally stumped.
I have my name now. Changed from Francesca, to Tammy. I know that is going
to work much better. I just couldn't make Francesca work... just not me. My
Francesca wanted to be too snobby for who I am, and I don't think I look
like one. Tammy is the name my Mom was going to name me anyway, before she
heard the name Lori, so ... Tammy is an English derivative of the Hebrew
Tamara, so it has more versatility.
I am interested in just about all areas of European history. Especially the
Bohemian aspect. Hubby's family is Irish, German, Checzkoslovakian, and my
parents are German and English. I know more about the German than the
others, so maybe that is the way to go??
I like the 12th century styles and up through the 15th century, but after
that, it get's a bit "iff"ey.
I love rich fabrics. Can't resist velvets, and silks, and satins... I have
gathered a bit of a stash of velvet, silk and satin over the years, just
waiting for the perfect dress... I have a lot of blue, and greens, and some
drop dead white (that would dye well) jacquard. I haven't been into my stash
for a while, but am going to be digging it out after we get back from Vegas.
I have some that would work for Flemish (?) or ... no it is more toward
polish, but needs to be tea dyed, it is too bright.
On a contrary note (?) I love the lady in the green dress. (can't find the
url right now). I would love to make that dress some time... Another one I
would like to make is the lady in the red dress...
I went to http://www.costumes.org/pages/timelinepages/timeline.htm
looking at it, I like the Byzantine, (that fabric that needs to be tea dyed,
could pass here...) Frankish might be a possibility in the summer... did
they ever cover their faces ? I'm allergic to the sun..., I like these
13th century works too, (I
like the pointy hats lol), then it jumps to Italian...
Other misc... I'm 5'4", so mot very tall, I'm dieting, and currently a
14/16. I want to get down to a 8 or maybe a 6 again. My hair is short, and
varies between strawberry blond, red, and reddish auburn. I have a short
neck (so I think) so I don't think I could pull of anything Elizabethan. Oh,
yeah.. I have hips... darn it... I have to alter almost all mundane pants
So, where do I go to? Any ideas? I'd like to see what you all can come up
with... I have plenty of imagination, I just lack focus. lol...
