As someone who is of a similar height and possibly of a greater weight (won't weigh myself to find out how much greater) I've been wearing roman to solve this problem. Because it is basically just 2 pieces of fabric sewn down the sides and at intervals across the shoulders/down arms with a simple girdle around the waist covered up with a good sized wrap (I use dyed muslin which is 36''x6'/7') any deficencies in figures are easily hidden, especially as muslin is lightweight and hides everything, plus I have had tons of compliments on managing to look fabulous and stately as well as elegeant, no mean feat given my height and weight. May I add that this garb is easy and quick to make, incredibly comfortable to wear and can be easily adapted to different climes (cold winters, hot summers) just by using different weight pure wools (challis weight is good for summer) with lightweight cotton wraps and adding extra tunics underneath the outer one for
winter. I'm based in Ireland so heat is only a problem for a couple of events a year but cold is more of a problem. Hope this is of use to you and if you want an idea of how I look I can be found on my facebook page wearing a roman outfit made entirely from dyed muslin (under my SCA name of Ivlia Vespasia).
