I am not sure if this was answered.
Battle of Legnano May 29th, 1176
Legnano is a town in the Provence of Milan.
Fabric would be linen, wool, hemp, and some silk. To my understanding cotton
was not common at this time in "Italy". Most times the embroidery thread was
silk. Some of the designs was woven into the fabric.
I have seen the original site of this display once upon a time but can't
seem to find it back.
I stumbled across this in my search for men's garb. I am looking for more
information on when and where they are from and what to call them to
continue my search as well as how to construct them and what material from
which these may be made. It looks like from the site the might be 1300's -
1400's from Milan.
