I've been seeing some léine examples around the internet that people have
made for the SCA or other groups that have pleated sleeves. (A picture can
be found at my blog: http://edithdechelched.blogspot.com/
Is there any evidence at all to back this up?
I understand that the drawstring type sleeves are right out.
As far as I'm aware, these sleeves are not correct, especially with the blue
down the middle (the look may have been based on a picture of an 'Irish
countrywoman' by an artist whose name I've forgotton, but whom I'm sure
someone here will know. This picture has a gown with a very narrow 'sleeve'
with cuff. worn over a separate leine). Have a look at Cass McGann's site
(www.reconstructinghistory.com) for better information.
