Somehow I missed this before today. Looking at the stying of the dress,
my first instinct is that it is front laced with an overlaying piece of
fabric pinned into place across the chest, essentially a stomacher.
Though I do not think there would be many out there to object if it were
side or back laced. Though I am fairly certain that you would want to
bone both lacing channels.
