* BARTON COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE, in Kansas, has instituted an
honor system that aims to deter cheating with a new,
transcript-marring grade that indicates academic dishonesty.
Professors can now assign a grade of "XF" to students who are
caught plagiarizing, cheating on a test, or in other ways
violating the college's academic-integrity policy.
