Boy did I suck!
Well, I actually started out really really good. I was ahead of pace
for 3:15 up to about mile 16. Then my legs kept getting heavier, and
heavier, and heavier. By mile 20, I knew I would have to walk quite
a bit later. Even tried the run, nap, run method a few times. By
mile 22, I just resigned myself to walk and finish this damn thang.
By 25.9, I was rested enough to at least finish running, you know,
for the cameras and the crowds.
Right now I don't feel like I want to run Boston Marathon. But, give
me a couple of days, and I'll probably change my mind.
But, really despite all the pain, as someone once said, suffering is
optional. So I'm opting not to suffer. Ran with some old friends,
met some new one (partly thanks to channel 4TVs news article a few
days ago). Looking forward to Los Angeles Marathon with at least two
other barefoot marathoners, Larry and Todd.
