This meeting is a follow-up activity of the Strasbourg study session “Strategies for Inclusion of Roma Youth” organized from 15 to 22 April 2012 in the European Youth Center in Strasbourg identified as a high demand requested from the participants for a substantial continuation of the efforts with a structured and comprehensive approach.
As a follow-up decision, FERYP bureau is developing a three year strategy of the Organization. The Strategy is planned based on the needs addressed at the study session and discussions on current relevant Roma Youth related challenges in Europe.
The Istanbul meeting should serve as cornerstone for presenting the Strategy to the FERYP members from all member countries, and coordinate efforts through effective networking in the implementation.
The meeting should provide the FERYP members a tangible view on current EU funding opportunities. Same time the meeting should provide space for discussion the connection between the current Roma youth challenges and funding possibilities for addressing them.
Also the meeting should strongly contribute to strengthening the networking among the FERYP members from different countries in reaching the common objectives through their International, national and local work.
The two and a half days should offer interactive sessions with providing space for:
- Discussing the FERYP’s mission and strategy;
- Identifying concrete networking possibilities;
- Analyzing EU Funding opportunities;
- Establishing agreements on future commitments
