ooc: Collab Mew and Steve
A tall, dark purple Gengar appeared in the midst of a large domed temple and walked towards the front as he cradled a white Mew kitten in his arms. His fur changed color from dark purple to royal purple as did his eyes change from blood red to purple as he closed the distance between himself and a jet black Mew, black from tail to nose, hovering with his eyes closed just above a broken alter. "You are all she has now, so if you please, have pity and look after her...Rex" he said as he offered him the Mew kitten. The Mew opened his blood red eyes and their black slits widened as he looked down upon the child.
The black Mew's eyes filled with a red light, ~Those who love me call me Michael
why is it that you do not?~ he sent, the sound of his voice being the same very deep and ruff voice he had when he was a giant grey Aerodactyl. He tried to remember what it was like to not have the thoughts of others waving past his mind like wind, or having to think to fly. It was not long ago
The 18 foot Aerodactyl finished his song and closed his blood red eyes as he hung his head with a sigh as he folded his wings about himself so he was bat like in appearance. He brought his 15 foot tail around so he was looking at the devil like end of it, though it was made of a metallic alloy that was surprisingly light. "Vladimir
" Rex whispered as he remembered his friend and wondered how it was possible that the 3 feet of metal, which made up the end of his tail, responded to his commands and he could move it just as he had his real tail and he watched as it curled and un curled at his thought.
Atop the spire of the ancient coliseum a youthful mew with patches of green and blue topical colorings beneath her fur stared down upon the large dragon. And then without another second she teleported down to a massive stone slab only a couple of feet away from Rex. "Good afternoon to you, Rex
" she greeted quietly. She did not need to ask his name for she already knew it all too well from the stories she had been told by the other dragon upon this island. This encounter was destined by the fates.
The Aerodactyl stood upright as it turned its eyes and head slightly to its right and down to look at the Mew so his three foot horns stood strait up. He unfolded his wings and flexed the muscles in his body and his thickened arms, chest and legs tensed with new strength from his long months of hard training and it filled him with pride
he had been waiting for this.
Rex raised and clenched his left paw into a fist as he pointed a finger on his other paw at her while inhaling in a growl "I recognize you. You are the one I saw nearly a year ago in the sky of the North
" he said before snarling and showing his long fangs and sharp teeth. "Bring me to your leader, I have not the patience to deal with a female in your oppressive species" he said, not believing that a female was the leader of this island, "especially not a wet nurse maid" he said as the metallic end of his tail whipped and brushed some sparks from the floor. It occurred to him that he was being unfair to her, and that it probably would have been much better if he had been a gentlemen like he knew how and had been taught, but all his anger and hurt over loosing his mate was coming to a head in him now and he was finding his emotions and temper difficult to control.
Eyasha feigned mild fear at the sight of the flexed muscles even though she felt he was more insolent than worthy of her time. "I am afraid SHE is much too busy to converse with commoners, so I am afraid you will have to converse with myself if you so desire
" she said with a thoughtful pause. "Although I must ask why a Pokémon of your size has come to this island or wishes to speak with our priestess
" she inquired curiously. She did not need to ask, she knew perfectly well, but decided instead to test Rex.
Rex closed his mouth and stopped barring his fangs he knew she was feigning fear since he could always sense true fear. He felt like he was being set up for a trap, or had already walked into it, but it really didn't matter to him since he felt he was not leaving the island alive. He pondered her words and thought that if she did not know why he was here then Sarayu was either being held in secret, or was long since dead and never on the island to begin with. He tried to think of a way to make her slip on her words, have her make a mistake so he could know what his mate's fate was and thereby know whether or not it was wise in attacking her. But as his mind raced he became frustrated further and his eyes glowed red for a moment, then suddenly he sighed and his shoulders hung forward as he leaned against a column behind him and slid down it so he sat down with his legs in front of himself.
"I don't know
I guess originally I was looking for Sarayu my mate. I thought she was taken from me by a Mew and then my search for her turned into a quest for revenge and I hurt several Mew who had nothing to do with it. So I guess Celestia was right
I really came here out of hate, not love" he said then chuckled softly. "Funny thing is I never really thought till now why she was gone
its probably that she just left me" he said as he hung his head.
Eyasha quietly nodded her head as if approving of his non-violent response. "You have changed a great deal since your earlier days Rex, and changed for the better in my opinion
" she said with a faint smile and teleported from sight to the tip of the pillar directly above his head. Her feet and tail dangled over the pillar carelessly while she glanced up at the sky thoughtfully. "But you do not need to play coyly to loosen my tongue, I am happy to answer your questions wet nurse maid I may be
" she laughed.
"And you may rest at ease for your journey has come to an end
Sarayu is indeed located upon this island and safely watching over your unborn children
" she added with a quiet voice. She knew he was easy to subdue should he grow violent, and she trusted that he knew that factor as well. "Although I fear you have much to hear in such a short time
" she replied to her own comment. Time was short and she sensed the darkness swelling beneath the temple but dared not venture closer knowing it was futile.
Rex immediately bounded to his feet, spun, and was folding his paws in front of him as hope filled his face as he looked up at Eyasha. "She is here?!" he asked happily, and very relieved to know she was alive and had not left him. "Oh!" he exclaimed and immediately dropped to his knees before her "And please tell your priestess that I beg her forgiveness for the harm I caused and will do whatever she asks in recompense" he said quickly before bowing his head "And sorry to you too for my insults, my Lady
I have shamed myself and Sarayu for all that I did, I am not as wicked as I once was, she would never have chosen me if I were still"
Eyasha lowered her eyes upon sensing the elation in Rex's voice and aura. "Calm yourself Rex, time is short
You shall see your beloved soon enough
But for now you must know some important things..."
"For you see Sarayu volunteered to come to this island knowing that you would no doubt follow, she did not have the time to bid you farewell, however, and so she has remained here ever since
" Eyasha said with a quiet tone of voice. "Sarayu volunteered to come to this island knowing her fate and role in the greater destiny of this planet
" she explained with gradual pauses every few moments so Rex could be able to keep pace with all that she had to tell him this moment, for he had a great role to play indeed.
"Beneath this island, this very moment, an ancient evil has awakened from its eternal slumber
And soon those upon this island will be used as the experimental fate of all life on this planet
Here me when I say these things Rex for soon the bodies of yourself and your mate shall pass away in the rivers of time to become your true selves
And you alone shall justify or condemn the worth of every single male who has existed past, present, and for the future to come
" she said with a quiet tone of voice.
Rex grimaced at her last words, "I wish you had not said it was up to me
I am a fool. I will surely fail" he said sadly. He couldn't believe he as so close to getting Sarayu back, to only be losing her again, and to have the fate of the world on top of that. He had always wanted to feel some worth or importance
but this was just too much.
Eyasha swayed her tail over the edge of the pillar thoughtfully. "Have you ever heard the legends of our lord Dialaga, Rex? Dialaga is the master of all time, capable of transcending the past and future like the present and is the source of all psychic Pokémon's ability to perceive the future
A future that has you holding a central role in the fate of future generations, both Mew and non-Mew alike
For you see I am old, far older than I may appear
" she giggled quietly at the thought of how many years she had seen.
"My role in this world is rapidly coming to a close, and so others must rise to challenge the evils which poison the minds of those with power
And before the sun rises tomorrow morning, the first member of our tribe lord Falcon shall be reborn in flesh and begin his judgment
Do not fear the changes that will undoubtedly occur, instead only embrace your life here with your mate and offspring
" she replied with a saddened tone of voice. Her youthful tone gradually adopted a more elderly tone of grace.
"You will have two daughters, one not directly born of you, and a third in the later years
Take heart in the knowledge that among every male on this island you shall be more able to satisfy the judgments of our patron founder, he who once formed a vile contract with the Pokémon Dialaga
" she answered in a somber tone of voice. "The daughter not of your own will be that of Spirit and Hope who will both die before the next sunrise, I compel you to love her as your own
For in your ability to love resides the one proof that will either save or condemn the lives of every creature on this peaceful planet
" she eased.
Teleporting higher in the air, Eyasha observed the sudden blast of energy from the island's core. "Please remember all that I have told you, Rex, for everything I have done was to teach you something which you had not yet learned and were not ready to experience
" she began to say as the tidal wave of temporal energy splashed down upon the surface of the island. Everything changed in what felt like an instant as history was being written and rewritten by the stolen powers of Dialaga.
Waves of temporal powers rapidly altered everything they touched. Rex was rendered as a pitch black new Mew, who had been cloned from the DNA of not only the Aerodactyl Morgrin but now his female mate Luthien the Mew who bestowed upon Rex the gifts of the seers as a male heir. Somewhere in the depths of his mind, new memories began to fill Rex with a life he had not lived. He remembered where he had established a home on this island, where he had left his mate Selestia and their baby daughter.
Meanwhile Eyasha had vanished from sight, as a purple Gengar began to approach from the distance, behind the Gengar's back began to rise the morning sun. And with its warm rays signaled a new dawn.
Rex glanced down at his black fur covered paws and looked his Mew body over. A flood of new memories came to him from the time warp, he was not cloned of just an Aerodactyl now, he was still made by Drakoski, but was now the hybrid clone of an Aerodactyl and Mew. He realized that the female Mew he had spoken to before was Eyasha from his new memories, the leader of Mew Island, and that she had been testing him, but also that she had forgiven him for his attack on her family.
The Gengar closed the distance between them and stood before the Mew before speaking, "Michael, Spirit and Hope were slain by Falcon, though I am unsure if it was unintentional. I have come to entrust Harmony to your care" he said in his usual crisp and poliete manner.
The Mew was blacker then night, just under two foot tall with no color other then his eyes, which were still blood red and black slits for pupils, and half of his six foot long tail was still made of metal in an Aerodactyl like shape. He stood upon the broken alter so he was eye level with the six foot Gengar, "Morgrin
Morgrin, Mogrin!" he said, his voice rising. The Gengar blinked, surprised that the voice coming from the Mew was still the same large, powerful and deep voice he had as a giant Aerodactyl, "Why is it, Morgrin, that Eyasha, who's family I attacked, has forgiven me and loves me? Why does she use my real name and for 25 years you have not?" he asked as tears stung in his red eyes. "Why, when so many times in my childhood when I was hurt, frightened or alone you never comforted me? Never pressed my head to your breast or held me?...Never loved me
I was alone, always alone without family or a friend to speak of. Instead you took my innocence from me, even from an early age corrupting me. Teaching me to hold grudges, to hate, to steal and eventually kill. It was so long ago
but even I can remember when I was child and had only love, even for my enemies. Now look at me" he said as tears streamed freely down his face.
The purple Gengar lowered his head some and closed his eyes as he covered the sleeping kitten with an arm. "I am sorry
I was very dark, very wicked then. But I have changed, you do not know my past, or understand our true relationship Michael-"
"DON'T flatter me. And do not use my name" the black Mew interrupted with a hiss, "you make call me Rex, Smoke, Hazagbris, or even Glaurung, but do not use my real name" he said as anger and pain seared in his eyes.
Morgrin blinked and was visibly startled, "Please, I am sorry, verily I am, but you must listen
I was not always a Gengar, I became one after I died, in life I was an Aerodactyl, jet black and blue eyed. Our species was enslaved by the Mews, and as a young child I was befriend by a young Mew named Luthien, she fancied transforming to play with other species, and though I was only a boy, I fell in love with her and wanted her for my own. When I came of age I began to pursue and woo her, but in secret since she was a Princess, and I was but her slave, though leader of all our kind. Luthien was a Seer, and when she came of age she was to choose a mate, and she chose me which made me King of the Seers, and so, this greatly upset many of the Mew, that a slave should be their King. When Luthien bore my son Agnus, my enemies grew afraid. Though he was but an infant, he held an immense power that was beyond any Mew and could not be explained since hybrids are normally weakened."
"And in their hatred and fear, my enemies plotted against us and killed Luthien and Agnus. I tried my best to defend them, but I was out matched. They spared me, and had me banished, though it was only to get me away from the Island since the Aerodactyl would not have been controlled if they saw their leader crushed. But they were not through, and hunted me down. They tortured me for three days before killing me. By then I had built up such a hate that I came back as a ghost, and took my revenge. Many millennia later you were cloned from myself, and the humans altered your being to make you larger and far more powerful then any Aerodactyl before you. You were supposed to be, as you suspected, more powerful then any legendary, a marvel of what human science and technology could accomplish. But your powers were greatly decreased by your split with Glaurung, and now Falcon, the first of the Seers, has come and altered time itself. You are now cloned from both myself and Luthien." Morgrin sighed as he looked at the kitten in his arms, "Her name is Harmony, she is your daughter
Rex- I am sorry, I should have know the pain you bore as a result of my neglect"
The black Mew blinked the tears from his red eyes and sighed as well, "No
no its you, really. I have suspected our blood for some time. I do not weep from myself, but for Spirit and Hope. They were so kind and gentle. They were
they did not deserve this" he said as he closed his eyes. His body glowed and immediately increased in size rapidly. His snout grew, arms lengthened and grew wings while talons and claws appeared and when he finished his transformation he had become an 18 foot Aerodactyl, towering over the ghost. All his dimensions had remained the same except that now instead of being grey skinned, his entire body from the tips of his 3 foot horns, to where the end of his metal tail began, where completely covered in a thin pink fur. He opened his blood red eyes and their black slits widened as he looked himself over. "This
will take some getting used too" he muttered as he held out his hands and accepted the sleeping kitten into them.
Morgrin watched as a sudden change seemed to pass over Rex's face. No sooner had he held his daughter, he seemed to become filled with wonder and care, and as he cradled her it seemed to Morgrin that Rex had forgotten that he was here. "I will be around if you or Selestia need anything
being a ghost I still have an advantage of beign unaffected by the trials, if only in body"
Rex nodded slowly, but gazed wide eyed at his daughter. "Harmony
" he whispered as he very lightly kissed the top of her head.

The 18 foot Aerodactyl stood perfectly still with his eyes closed and his arms crossed and wings wrapped about himself and his 15 foot tail wrapped around the top of the obelisk. A white dove landed on the sharp end of one of his 3 foot horns and took a few moments to prune its feathers before flapping its wings and taking flight again. Rex opened his blood red eyes and their black snake like slits narrowed as they adjusted to the light. Looking down from his perch, he scanned the area again, slowly, before inhaling deeply and letting out a roar as he shouted, "SARAYU! WHERE ARE YOU? I HAVE COME FOR YOU!"
He listened in silent anger and frustration that not a Mew had come to face him yet. "Fools" he said to himself and whipped his tail in frustration so the metal end of it stabbed into the face of the stone obelisk as if it were wood. "Why do they keep me in suspense? I know they are not afraid of me" he said to himself as he remembered the Mew Falcon beating him into a severely broken and bloody mess, and a single tear stung in his eye as he remembered how Falcon had killed Ellwin, his adopted daughter, a Charmander. He sighed and brushed his eye with an arm and spread his wings to take flight when he realized his tail was stuck. He looked down, embarrassed at himself and angry. "Bloody fool" he muttered and opened his jaws, making an orb of energy glow in between them before blasting a powerfull Hyper Beam in between his feet. The beam penetrated and pierced the hundred foot obelisk to its base before then entire thing exploded, shattering into small fragments as it fell down in a ruined heap.
He landed on top of the rubble and snorted some smoke from his nostrils before spitting on the rock in disgust. He believed since the Mew meant to kill him, he might as well have them feel some pain of loss as he had to endure for the past year since Sarayu was kidnapped. That, and he did not like having his tail stuck. The Aerodactyl spread his wings and flew over the jungle, past the river till he spotted a domed temple sitting at the base of the mountain. The thought crossed his mind that he should level it and every structure of theirs he came across.
Diving quickly, he flew sideways as he passed between the columns of the temple and folded his wings on his arms as he slid to a stop, standing upright. He looked around and some of his anger subsided as he admired the carvings and artwork in the dome above him and suddenly regretted destroying the obelisk. He thought it strange that he had visited two of their structures and still encountered no one, not knowing of the ceremony where everyone on the island had gathered. "Sarayu?" he asked and listened to his very deep voice echo around him before it was followed by silence.
Rex stood still, his grey skin making him to seemingly melt into the shadows that fell across him as he listened to the echo of her name die away. "Sarayu
" he said again, but as he listened to his own voice echo away into silence, a deep pain overcame him and he found himself suddenly clutching his chest with one paw, making a pained gasp as he stumbled and caught himself with his right arm against a column as he kept clutching his chest harder with his left paw so that his claws pierced his own skin. He grunted and staggered, trying not to fall over from the pain in his chest. It felt as if his heart was giving up beating altogether.
Rex gasped for breath and concentrated on taking deeper, slower breaths till he had calmed himself. He had not realized that he was weeping till he saw his tears on the marble of the temple floor, and standing to his full height, he whipped his face on a wing and sighed as he let it drop to his side as he sat down with his back against the column where he fell into a immediate and deep sleep. Some time later he awoke to see that the shafts of veiled sunlight streaming past the columns of the temple's entrance had moved, and he knew a good amount of time had passed, though his loneliness had not. He stood up and looked around, before hanging his head.
He began to think back, far back. Back to a time where he was child, much the size of a small human boy and was next to his Master, Drakoski a very wealthy and powerful crime lord. He could feel his head pet by his Master's hand, and could feel the large ring on his finger brush his skin. Looking down from a balcony, he could see a stage with a tall bearded man with an orchestra behind him. The crowd fell silent, a deep bell tolled a single long and sad note as the cellos followed the sound with deep, short stanzas before violins played a simple, sweet almost maternal tune till all the instruments fell into a quiet, soft, supporting role as the man began to sing a song that had but two words.
Rex sat still, mesmerized. He recognized the first word, a word of praise that he thought was known only to his darker half and himself in their secret tongue, but the second
"it is a name" he heard the answer in his head come. He listened as the man's voice rose and fell, and rose and fell, and rose and fell again in his crescendo, till he hit the climax and he held his chorus for what seemed longer then humanly possible as the orchestra exploded into high fast stanzas that fell in their notes and pitch like rain on a spring night.
Rex, hearing the song in his mind, held the same note in a high tenor for even longer then the man he remembered and the voice coming from the great dragon was grand, magnificent, beautiful and as out of place as a perfect royal ballroom grand chandelier in a ruined room, and his voice echoed throughout the temple, its sound only equaled by the wonder that such a voice had belong to the creature all along. He continued the song, following its slow, sad melody, following it till its end, as he remembered it, and ended it on the same note, yet much softer in volume and length.
