Hello Joss/Mike,Thanks for the info. I see that my surname (McElroy) is even mentioned in the Irish Type IV subclade article. I do fit the Irish Type IV marker/alternative signature markers. What I wasn't aware of is its broad distribution including continental Europe. (I do have countries such as Belgium and England amongst others listed as "Ancestral origins" on my Father's side at Family Tree DNA.) In regards to the older articles on the Irish Class IV, it is interesting to note that there is thought that this group may include some former English or Norman invaders that had passed through the European continent and came further to Southern Ireland in centuries past. It does make sense for me to do the Geno 2.0 testing to assist in following the trail...(I had already joined the Z253 Project but failed to include it in earlier correspondence.)I will hold off on testing further on L894 and L895 unless I am guided to do so down the road. Many Thanks,Don McElroy

I wouldn't say that you haven't reached your final haplogroup, but I'm not an expert to say that, however, they may say that you are L1066* at this stage.
1) Is there any more testing recommended if my terminal SNP is L1066+ ? (ie the L895 or L894 below - or am I finished?)
I would recommend to have a look at Robert Casey's infos - http://www.rcasey.net/DNA/R_L21/Analysis/R_L21_Analysis_L894&L895.html
Here is what FTDNA - Z253 group says: L894 and L895 : So far these SNPs have only been found in one family, so these SNPs might be private in nature.
2) Where can I found out more about the Irish Class IV? How is it identified - and which part of Ireland (ie Counties) would the majority of it's members be found?
A bit old for now, but some good infos - http://www.worldfamilies.net/forum/index.php?topic=9172.0;wap2
3) Are there any additional Projects that you would advise joining?
Join the Z253 project - http://www.familytreedna.com/public/R-Z253/
4) Would Geno 2.0 be of any additional benefit?
To be honest, I don't know at this stage... However, one of the below admin would kindly answer your query or any one would be happy to provide more detailed info.

From my side, I'm Z253+, Z2534*+ and tested neg for all subclades. I'm convinced that there is more to discover :-)
