Hi Betty, it's Catherine, I posted the notice about the Ogston's.
I just went on Scotlandspeople to try and find John Ogston's death, but
there were none from Peterhead and one I thought might be his in Ellon
was'nt him either.
I have a Margaret Calder Ogston's death in 1872, she was aged 85, a widow of
John Ogston, pauper. She died at the Poorhouse. John must have died before
1855 as his death does'nt show up on Scotlandspeople, and that would have
answered the question, who was John's father.
On the IGI there are three possibles, for John's parents;
26-3-1790 in Lonmay, father William, mother Margaret Robertson
4-2-1792 in Peterhead, father John
5-5-1794 in Peterhead, father Robert
I'm currently waiting for the OPR to come in to go through it again and take
down every Ogston.
Are you related to my side of the Ogston's?
