Subject: Re: [PatternDesign] Turn cap sleeve into a dolman sleeve?
Here's how I would do it. I have no idea if it's the perfect method, but this has worked for me in the past. Take a pattern that has dolman sleeves. (blouse or dress) Lay that over the V8724, lining up the shoulder points, then lay a piece of tracing paper over both. Trace to make a new pattern piece for the bodice....Be sure to trace both a front and back. You may have to fudge it some. Be sure to make a sample (muslin) using up some cruddy fabric. (I usually have stuff people gave me because they know I sew. UGH!) There may be other little things you have to play with like a sleeve gusset, darts, etc., but that will get you started. From: dedesewsimple <dedesewsimple@...>

Subject: [PatternDesign] Turn cap sleeve into a dolman sleeve?
Am working on V8724...it's coming out beautifully...the only part I'm not completely happy with are the sleeves and would like to turn the cap sleeves into dolman sleeves. When I first saw the pattern said these sleeves need to be longer, but saw others had done the dress and thought oh....what the hey....well....I need the dolman sleeves....lol....or at least cap sleeves that are longer....your suggestions how to do this is greatly appreciated ...thanx....D.
