Not true – I use CS3 – you need to update the camera raw drivers – worked for me.
I decided to upgrade my camera from a Canon 50D to a Canon 7D without realising that I would have problems trying to open my raw pictures in CS3.
My goodfriend Dave Albright told me when I asked him that Cs3 does not cover the 7D and that I'll need Cs4 as a minimum to be able to open the raw images or convert them to .dng format.
The alternative looks more favorable, as after forking out for a new camera I don't think I can afford a new editing suite. I wish somewhere they will tell you this before you make the decision to upgrade things :-(.
a.- Does the .dng format destroy the original RAW?.
b.- Do you save to .tif embeding the original file?. I know this will increase the size of the files.
c.- Does anyone knows of a good tutorial on how to use step by step this tool?
d.- Is Elements10 a good (cheaper) alternative to CS4/5.
Thank you very much for your kind reponses/help.
